General Questions
Will you be having a round two three?
Yes. We'll be back on April 1st with sign ups.

For Our Writers
Do I need a beta?
Only if you think so. We do ask that, on the final draft due date, that you send a completed fic to whitecollar.bb.mods@gmail.com. The mods will not be doing any editing, so please do that yourself before sending it in. We will not be posting it for you. This is to make sure that everyone is on track to post on their posting date.

The great and wonderful mods over at [livejournal.com profile] whitecollarfic have let us link you to their beta list. That is here if you need/want to find a beta-er.

My story is a crossover/has a threesome/involves tenticle porn. Is that okay and do I need to put warnings when submitting the fic?
Everything goes here - including the odd tenticle porn. Neal is curious on how that would be done, but Peter says to get back to business.

As for warnings - yes, you need to have warnings. Most of us do not want to sit down to read a White Collar fic and find tentacle porn. So, if you would warn about what is inside the fic on other sites, please warn here as well.

We ask, that if you do a crossover, that your fic center more on the White Collar then the crossover fandom. For example, if you write a White Collar/Supernatural fic, the entire fic cannot be about Sam and Dean fighting a red cap and Peter coming in all X-Files to deal with the cleanup. Peter has to have an active role in the plot of that fic.

Do I need a header?
Yes, you do! Here’s the standard header everyone is to use:

Can I have a co-author?
Yes you can!

Will I get art?
Yes. Everyone who completes the challenge will get art – it might be an illustration, it might be a fan vid, or it might be a fan mix. However, you will get something shiny to go along with your finished fic.

For Our Artists
I'm an artist. How do I know which story I'm making art for?
On July 16th, we’ll make a post of the summaries we got from the authors who wrote fic. Picking the fic will come on a first come, first serve basis. However, if all the fic is selected, another round for fic selection will be open for the artists.

I don’t know how to draw. Can I still participate?
Yes! You don’t need to draw to produce art. You can do image manipulation, create a fan video, or create a fan mix.

Okay – that sounds great! Where should I upload my fan video or fan mix?
You can upload your fan video to youtube as the mods do not have webspace to host the videos themselves. As for fan mixes, they can be uploaded to the author via email or through other file sharing means.

Having to leave the challenge
I'm a writer. I missed the July 15 deadline for complete drafts, but I'm sure I'll finish soon! Can I still participate?
This will be done on a case by case basis. The mods will discuss and get back to you in a timely manner (ie within 2 hours unless it is past 1 am Central Time).

I'm an artist. It's after July 16 and I've already signed up to make art for a story, but I need to drop out! What happens?
Email the mods ASAP. Do not wait for the drop out post if you know you are not going to be able to do art. It makes the mod's life easier to find a backup.

OMG Life Exploded!!! Where do I drop out?
Deep breath - no worries. You can email the mods at anytime at whitecollar.bb.mods@gmail.com. We will also create a post on the drop out dates for anybody who wishes to comment.

My question is, if by the due date, I haven't completed my story, but I DO have more than 10,000 words, and am still working on it - what happens then? Will I post the 10,000+ words I have and continue the story as a WIP, or do I have to have the entire story complete regardless of the length? I can work with it either way. :)

I just ... don't have a lot of faith in my ability to keep a story around 10,000 words. LOL

If you mean by the final due date, we're just asking that you send in something that shows that you did reach the 10K deadline. You will then have until your posting date to finish the story. You can also claim the last date to post so you can make sure to finish your story in time.

okay... how would I do that (claim the last posting date)? because i'm pretty sure i'm going to want to do something like that :P i have this little issue where my fics seem to get away from me...

my beta and i laugh that if i say "i'm gonna write a one-shot" it's going to be a three-chapter, short fic; if I say I'm going to write a three-chapter fic, it ends up being more like 8, and if i'm going to write a longish 12-chapters or so, count on at least 40 :P

*sigh* lol

After the artist drop out date and before the final drafts are due, we'll be posting a "pick a date to post" post. You claim the date you want to post then.
