I can't believe it, but Round Eight of the White Collar Big Bang is on the horizon. If we with stick with the traditional April 1 start date, it's just a month away.

When there was always new canon on the horizon, there were a lot of fanwork creators who supported a rich community of challenges. But as time goes by, people become less interested or find new fandoms. That is simply the reality we live in. I currently mod three major White Collar Challenges: The [livejournal.com profile] whitecollar_bb, [livejournal.com profile] wc_reverse_bb, and the [livejournal.com profile] wcpairings exchange. In 2016, the Reverse Bang was put on hiatus and a lot of people had fun with the White Collar Pairings. There were just enough participants for the Big Bang and I have high hopes that the two writers who didn't finish their stories (for understandable reasons) will do so soon.

This poll is to gauge the interest of the fandom in which challenges should go on this year. I'm reluctant to put the granddaddy - the Big Bang - on hiatus, but if more people are interested in the Reverse Big Bang, I would do that. White Collar Pairings would be a supplement to either one of those challenges, not a replacement.

[Poll #2063840]

Please feel free to make suggestions, comments, words of encouragement in the conments.

I love them all! But with no new canon, I can see why it would make sense to perhaps alternate years with the two BBs or maybe do one every nine months? Let me know if you need any help or extra mods for anything.

I picked the reverse big bang because I am rubbish at thinking up plots without prompting and last time I found the art prompts super inspiring :)

Love them both, so would do them both, lol. Thanks for organizing.

I actually like [livejournal.com profile] cookielaura's idea of alternate the BBs. *two thumbs up*

Thing is, I love both challenges but I'm at a point where I realize two BBs in one year would be too much for me personally (since I'm participating in SPN fandom with its own challenges, among them - of course - BBs).

Right now I only have one specific plunny for a BB with another idea that might lend itself to a long story (though I dunno if it'll be enough for the minimum word count). The awesome thing about RBBs is that I've written some of my best work based on someone else's art so I really have a soft spot for RBBs. SO INSPIRING.

Pairings, of course, is a given either way. *g*

I voted for the other timeframe in the hopes that we can maybe have a poll about sticking with the 7 month length or possibly doing a shorter time frame for the round? I want to participate, especially since fandom is smaller now, but I would be very interested in shortening the time frame if there was other interest in it.

ETA: We should totally do some WC re-watch nights before/during the challenge!

as [livejournal.com profile] angelita26 said, especially if we do the RBB, I also wouldn't mind a shorter time frame. I've noticed that when I have a lot of time, I tend to get distracted about things and RL kinda takes over and by the time we're down to a month, I have three months' worth of stuff to get done, writing-wise. Maybe we could do April to September? I know that once I sit down, art takes a few hours or maybe a couple days at max and I think that would apply to most artists. If we had art due early May, I would think that four to five months of writing time could work.

I love all challenges but I have also reached a point where I have less and less time for fannish stuff, I'm so tired all the time, I tend to just stick to ogling pretty pics, LOL. But I would love to do RBB for a change :D So yeah :D I'll do any challenge but if I had to pick my preference for this year, it's RBB :P
