I can't believe it, but Round Eight of the White Collar Big Bang is on the horizon. If we with stick with the traditional April 1 start date, it's just a month away.

When there was always new canon on the horizon, there were a lot of fanwork creators who supported a rich community of challenges. But as time goes by, people become less interested or find new fandoms. That is simply the reality we live in. I currently mod three major White Collar Challenges: The [livejournal.com profile] whitecollar_bb, [livejournal.com profile] wc_reverse_bb, and the [livejournal.com profile] wcpairings exchange. In 2016, the Reverse Bang was put on hiatus and a lot of people had fun with the White Collar Pairings. There were just enough participants for the Big Bang and I have high hopes that the two writers who didn't finish their stories (for understandable reasons) will do so soon.

This poll is to gauge the interest of the fandom in which challenges should go on this year. I'm reluctant to put the granddaddy - the Big Bang - on hiatus, but if more people are interested in the Reverse Big Bang, I would do that. White Collar Pairings would be a supplement to either one of those challenges, not a replacement.

[Poll #2063840]

Please feel free to make suggestions, comments, words of encouragement in the conments.

I just wanted to thank everyone that participaed in the challenge: authors, artistis, betas, and the people who just came to read. It has been an honor to run this big bang with [livejournal.com profile] sirwynai and we want it to succeed. Therefore, we are leaving it in the wise hands of [livejournal.com profile] elrhiarhodan and [livejournal.com profile] theatregirl7299.

Just so everyone knows, there will be a round 5 next April. [livejournal.com profile] elrhiarhodan will be posting the master list when she has a chance. Again, thank you everyone as you have made this challenge the wonderful place it has come to be. We started out shaky, but we came around. So I thank you for that.

Well, see you on the flip side. :)

07 September 2013 @ 02:54 am
Please remember to post on your date. if something happens and you cannot post on your date for whatever reason, you will have to wait until the end of the challenge to post.

Either myself or my co-mod will be adding tags for you on your posts. So don't worry if you can't tag, we will be taking care of it. :)

Happy posting!

06 September 2013 @ 01:13 pm
So, we're starting posting on the 7th, which is tomorrow. Eep! So, I thought it would be a good idea to remind everyone of when they are posting and get the header up. Here's our posting schedule:

Sept 8th: [livejournal.com profile] elledeegee
Sept 9th: [livejournal.com profile] treonb

Sept 26th: [livejournal.com profile] veleda_k
Sept 27th: [livejournal.com profile] sheenianni

Now, here's the header:

Now, let's go through it.

Title: Self explanatory.
Crossover Fandom: Only if you have one. :) If you do not, just erase it from the header.
Characters/Pairings: Your primary characters and/or pairing, secondary pairing - feel free to put characters here if you have a gen fic.
Rating: Use the rating system you are most comfortable with.
Word Count: Again, self explanatory. :D
Spoilers: Due to having people from all over and being in all different places in the fandom, please just say "Spoilers for current season" or "Spoilers for season 3" or something of the like.
Warnings: Please please please use this. if you think you need to put in a warning, please do so. Better to have one than not have one. Do Note - Slash is not a warning and should not be used. If you have a slash warning, I will comment for you to take it down and you will have 48 hours to do so before I take down your fic. You will then repost it at the end of the round - no exceptions.
Summary: Quick sentence or three about your fic.
Author's Note: Please put the following sentence or some variation of it - I do not own White Collar or its characters. If you have a crossover fandom, put that in as well. This is just so we don't get anybody legal on our butt. Thank your betas and anybody else you need or want to.

Art: Either below or above your fic but it needs to be in the same post with a link to the art post if there is one. If your artist has not gotten your art to you by the time you post, please put TBP (to be posted).

Do not worry about tagging - the mods will take care of that as the stories go up.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I will open up for posting around midnight CDT. Happy posting everyone!

01 September 2013 @ 03:25 pm
Hello authors!

Your final drafts are due into whitecollar.bb.mods@gmail.com as soon as possible. They do not have to be beta-ed. They don't even have to be completely finished. They do need to be over 10K and attached to the email instead of in the body of the email. Your subject should look like this: username - final draft - title of fic.

You will get an email saying we've got your draft in. It might not be five minutes after you've sent it or...well, give me at least a day and then poke me if you don't get a reply.

This would have been up sooner but there was Whovian going ons. Apologies for that.

MOST IMPORTANT: You have until September 4th at midnight to get your final drafts in. I'm giving more time because I was late getting this up. Around the 5th, I'll post the header and coding and how you should post everything.

Good luck everyone! And congrats to everyone - you are all amazing!

Hi everyone!

So, it is the 15th of August. Some house cleaning first.

Artists: While today is scheduled as the last day to drop out, either though a comment on this post or through email / PM, you can still drop out at any time if you need to. If you need to drop out after today, you need to contact us ASAP. Either through email at whitecollar.bb.mods@gmail.com or by PMing either myself or [livejournal.com profile] sirwynai. Nobody is going to get in trouble. We'd just like to know so we could sound the horn for a pinch artist.

Authors: You have 17 days to get in your final draft (September 1st). We ask that, when sending in your final draft, to put in the subject line: User name - Final Draft - Title of Draft. So, my subject, for example, would read: crescent_gaia - Final Draft - Notes and Murder. You don't have to send in any sort of header for it. We just want to make sure that everyone is ready for posting their story. Also, it doesn't have to be finished finished - if you still need to beta it, that's fine. It really is more so we can make sure that everyone is on track.

Alright, let's get to the dates. It is first come, first serve. We want to have only one person a day posting. If you cannot post on any of the dates, give us a poke and we'll see what we can do.

31 July 2013 @ 05:46 pm
Hello everyone.

So, as you might have noticed, myself and [livejournal.com profile] sirwynai aren't really around a lot at the moment. It turns out that this July was a very busy month for both of us. We apologize for any sort of trouble this might have caused and we thank those who contacted their artists on their own. All of the emails for artist claims - save for the newest ones on the second round claiming post - have been sent out. If you do not hear from your author or artist within a week, please give us a poke either here or through email.

The second thing is that Tatra and I have decided that we can no longer run this community after the current round. We are looking for a new mod (or two) who are willing to take over for us. We would transfer ownership of the community to that person, along with the email address account, so nothing would change for the participants. If you're willing to do that, please leave a comment. All comments for the moderation will be kept screened and Tatra and I will make a decision by the end of the round.

We really don't want to see the community end. On that note, we will keep looking until April 1st, 2014. If a mod cannot be found by that time, we will be closing the community. It's been a lot of fun, but at the same time, we just cannot keep up anymore. We've had a wonderful time being your mods and we thank each and everyone - past and present - who have contributed to this community.

Thank you for your time.

We've still got unclaimed fics! Please, if you can take on a second claim or knows someone who wants to do some art, please pass this on.

Thank you!

A few notes before we start:
1. This is first come, first serve. If all fics are claimed, I'll consider opening up claims again or just putting everything in with the art selection post that is coming up on August 1st.

2. Please be kind to your mods and the author that you are paired up with.

3. You have until September 1st to create art. If at any time you need to drop out, you need to contact us at whitecollar.bb.mods@gmail.com. Or your author needs to know and then your author needs to tell us. This is just so we can get a pinch hitter in the works. You won't send any ninjas after you, because RL is a bitch and your mods know that first hand, but we need to know.

Alright, that's it. Any questions, reply here.

Yep, that's right. Today by 8 pm Central US Time, you need to have your rough drafts into us. The artist claiming post is going up at 9 pm Central unless Livejournal decides to be a bitch. So writers do have that narrow window over the deadline, but don't leave it for too long.

Guidelines on how to submit your draft are here! Also, please make sure that your drafts are in some sort of word document. I'm not going to be opening anything other than a word document, open word document, or notepad file.

Do remember - if you cannot get your rough draft in by 8 pm tonight, you then have until August 1st to submit a rough draft. While we will be putting up an artist claim post for that, I cannot say that you will get an artist if you submit on August 1st.

Happy writing everyone!

14 July 2013 @ 02:13 pm
1. Rough Drafts Due by July 16th at 8 pm Central Daylight Time. Here is a time zone converter in case you're not sure about what time that is in your part of the world.

The guidelines on how to submit your draft are over here. Please comment either here or there if you have any questions. You need to have around 7K and you do not need to outline the rest. That is between you and your artist.

2. If you cannot get your rough draft in by the deadline, you do have another chance to turn in a rough draft on August 1st. We cannot say that you will get an artist or not.

3. If you know any artists who love White Collar, please send them our way! They can sign up over here or just show up on claiming day and grab a fic.

4. We have a beta post! Feel free to spread it around too.

14 July 2013 @ 02:12 pm
Hi all!

We're looking for betas (no, not that kind, we're not Supernatural) who are willing to help out an author. Here's the form to sign up:

The last one is to make sure that our betas don't get overwhelmed. :) Have fun!

02 July 2013 @ 03:07 pm
Hi everyone!

I hope everyone has been having fun writing. We've been quiet, dealing with real life issues, a puppy (me), and writing our own things. I'm glad to see that nobody really needed us and hoped that nobody minded that we were quiet. We feel, here at [livejournal.com profile] whitecollar_bb, that everyone feels better with just writing on their own and not being poked every month. :)

However, rough draft time is upon us! You have until whenever the art claims post goes up - should be the 15th but might be the 16th around 8 pm Central Time - to get your drafts in. If we do not have a rough draft with a header from you, I cannot say that you will get an artist. You can still do the challenge, but there's a good chance you're not getting art unless you do the art yourself or get a friend to do it. So, until the art post goes up on the 15th/16th, all drafts will be put into the art claims post for artists. After that, you have until August 1st to get a rough draft in and still be considered in the challenge. You just will not receive art. This way, we get as many stories as possible. If you still need an extension beyond that, please contact us at whitecollar.bb.mods@gmail.com and we'll see what we can do.

Another thing about rough drafts - you must have at least 7K of written work with an outline your artist can work with until you get them a complete draft. If you have a full and complete draft of work, that's awesome. But if you're struggling and below the 7K, email us and we'll see if we can work something out. Again, it's more about getting as many stories as we can in and having a giant party in September about the awesome work everyone has done.

Now - how to send the rough draft in. You will send it in to whitecollar.bb.mods@gmail.com. You will get a confirmation email back that your draft was received. Your draft must be attached to the email or the draft needs to be sent from Google Docs so we can check word counts and that you're ready to have an artist go at your work (okay, more for word count checking than anything else). Please make sure it is the complete draft and not the individual chapters. That just makes our lives easier. :)

In the subject of the email, you must have the following: Rough Draft - User Name - Title of Fic So, for example, the subject of my email would be "Rough Draft - crescent_gaia - Notes and Murder".

In the body of the email, this is what you need to have:
Title (Please note working or final):
Crossover (Y/N and Fandom):
Characters/Pairings:
Rating:
Any Warnings (this includes anything someone would be squicked by and spoilers):
Short Summary:

So, for mine, it would be:
Title (Final): Notes and Murder
Crossover: Castle
Characters/Pairings: Peter/El, Neal/Sara, Neal/Alex, Beckett/Castle
Rating: PG-13
Any Warnings: Spoilers for all of shown White Collar, save for season 4 finale, and all of Castle, save for season 4 finale.
Short Summary: When someone turns up dead with Peter's card in their pocket, two amazing forces come together to find the murderer.

Simple, to the point, and that will make it a lot easier on us when we put up the art claims post. So, if you have any questions, please leave a comment or poke us at the email address that has been shown at least twice in the post.

Happy writing!

03 April 2013 @ 11:37 am

And we're back! It is the first of April and this is no joke - we're opening the sign ups for authors who want to write 10,000 words of a fanfiction centered around the greatness that is White Collar. A few points of business before getting to the sign ups. If this sounds similar to last year, that's because it is. :)

Here is the schedule:
Author Sign Ups Begin: April 1st - Sorry we're a few days late.
Artist Sign Ups Begin: May 1st
Author Drop Out Date: July 10th
Author Sign Ups End: July 15th
Fic Rough Draft Due Date: July 15th
Artists Pick Fic: July 16th
Artists Sign Ups End: August 15th
Final Fic/Art Due: September 1st
Posting Starts: September 7th

Rules for Authors:
1. Fics must be at least 10,000 words or longer of gen, het, or slash fanfiction. At this time, we are not considering RPF or RPS. If you feel we should, please contact us at whitecollar.bb.mods@gmail.com
2. The story must be centered around White Collar characters but don't feel like you have to use all of them. So this means Peter, Neal, Elizabeth, Mozzie, Kate, June, Agent Jones, Agent Cruz, Special Agent in Charge Reese Hughes (Peter's boss), Fowler, and Alex or anybody else who is central to the White Collar cast. Have fun with these characters. Crossovers are allowed but please make sure it centers around White Collar. For example per the season finale of season 1, you could crossover White Collar and In Plain Sight (show about Witness Protection on USA), but the focus should be on Neal.
3. There will be check in posts. Please try to remember to post to them, but if you miss them, don't sweat it. We're just check in to see what everyone needs within reason. I am not getting everyone their own Neal. You're on your own for that. -- These may or may not happen, depending on if we remember to post them. :)
4. Your Rough Draft is due on July 15th. This is when we are closing sign ups. There will be an official author drop out post on July 10th. If you need to drop out at any time, email us at whitecollar.bb.mods@gmail.com or leave a comment somewhere.
5. Fics as part of a series are allowed as long as they are stand alone fics. That means they can stand on their own merit and the reader doesn't have to read a previous fic in order to understand what you're writing.
6. You are not allowed to post your fic publicly either in whole or part before your posting date. Posting starts on the 7th of September - please wait until then.

We do ask that you join our sister vent community, [livejournal.com profile] wcbbvent to talk about the challenge, get help, vent or whatever else that you need.

If there are any other questions, please look to the Frequently Asked Questions. If your question is still not answered, please drop us a line either at the FAQ post or feel free to PM/email us.

Ready - Set - GO!

14 September 2012 @ 11:03 am
I believe I fixed the problem. If I haven't and you cannot post, either leave me a message here or email. If it is between the hours of 2 am and 10 am CDT, I might not respond because I'm usually asleep. :D

Happy posting everyone!

06 September 2012 @ 11:28 pm
Please remember to post on your date. if something happens and you cannot post on your date for whatever reason, you will have to wait until the end of the challenge to post.

Happy posting everyone!

ETA: Forgot to mention this - Either myself or my co-mod will be adding tags for you on your posts. So don't worry if you can't tag, we will be taking care of it. :)

I just wanted to repeat something I just put up in the schedule/header post. I realize that all might not see it and should be given a heads up before they go to post.

The thing is that some people have been using the idea of warnings wrong. If you have graphic sex, that deserves a warning because some people won't want to read that. Same goes with the more trigger worthy things out there.

However - Slash is not a warning and should not be used. If you have a slash warning, I will comment for you to take it down and you will have 48 hours to do so before I take down your fic. You will then repost it at the end of the round - no exceptions.

If you have any questions, feel free to leave them here. Love all of you and I cannot wait for the start of posting to begin tomorrow!

MOST IMPORTANT: You have until tomorrow at midnight to get your final drafts in. I'm giving more time because I was late getting this up. Around the 4th or 5th, I'll post the header and coding and how you should post everything.

Good luck everyone! And congrats to everyone - you are all amazing Collars!

28 July 2012 @ 08:20 pm
This is for all authors who did not submit a rough draft on July 15th but continued to write. You have until August 1st at midnight Hawaii time, which is 5 am CDT (Central Daylight Time). Truthfully, you have until I am going to put up the artist post, which is noon on August 2nd. After that, we will see you next round.

All Artists - at Noon CDT on August 2nd, the second claiming post will open. At the top will be stories that have not been claimed at all, followed by the stories that have been claimed at least once. You are not required to take a second or third piece of art if you feel that you cannot do it. You are also not required to pick one of the stories at the start. All stories will be open for claiming on a first come, first served basis.

For everyone - a post for selecting when you want to post your work will go up on August 15th. Please keep an open line of communication. More information on that will come on August 15th.

I hope that everyone is having a good time. If you need to contact us for any reason, don't hesitate to do so.

22 July 2012 @ 03:00 pm
Hey guys!

First off - author and artist match up emails / PMs are going to be sent out today. It might be more PMs than emails, so please make sure that you either check your Livejournal inbox or have notifications set up to inform you that you've got mail. Also, please check your inbox and give me until Monday afternoon before poking to say that you didn't get something. :)

Second - We still have one more fic that needs an artist! If you have already taken a fic, you may take a second one now. That is the only story up for a claiming. We will have a second claiming post, possibly with some new stories, up on the 2nd of August.

So, that's it! I'll start getting those emails / PMs out and happy collaboration!

WRITERS

You have about three hours to get rough drafts into me. After the artist post goes up, you have until August 1st to get a rough draft in but you will have no concerte guarantee of art. I'll still be putting up an art post on August 1st, but no promises are being made about getting more artists.

ARTISTS

In about three hours, the claiming post will be going up! And then you get to grab the story you want. It is first come, first serve and I will only open to a second round of claiming after all art is nabbed. You do not have to be signed up for art if you want to create art.

So, authors - WRITE WRITE WRITE!

And, artists - we'll be with you shortly. :)

Well, really, they're fine as long as I get them before I put up the artist claiming post. :)

Everyone, please remember to send your fic as an attachment to your email. Or, if you are using Google docs, please share it with the mod email. That email, for anyone who needs it, is whitecollar.bb.mods@gmail.com and we're doing our best to get back to everyone in a timely manner. Also, please remember do put this header in the body of your email or your rough draft will not truly be counted:

Title (Please note working or final):
Crossover (Y/N and Fandom):
Characters/Pairings:
Rating:
Any Warnings (this includes anything someone would be squicked by and spoilers):
Short Summary:

Here are the wonderful people who have already turned in drafts!
[livejournal.com profile] sholio
[livejournal.com profile] squeakyoflight
[livejournal.com profile] rabidchild67
[livejournal.com profile] lionessvalenti
[livejournal.com profile] frith_in_thorns

If you sent in a draft and your name is not up there, it is because we need something from you. You have been sent an email back asking for what you are missing. Please send those in ASAP.

Happy writing everyone! The deadline coming up is for everyone who wants art. For the people who want more time and/or don't really care about art, we'll see you August 1st!

11 July 2012 @ 04:22 pm
At least, if you really want art. Otherwise, you've got until the first of August. We've decided that an art post will go up on the second of August for anyone who wants to claim art. However, as said before, we make no guarantees of art for anyone who turns in a fic after July 15th.

So, here are the people we have fic from so far!
[livejournal.com profile] sholio
[livejournal.com profile] squeakyoflight

So, keep the drafts coming in! Also, if you have to drop out, that's fine. There are no penalties for dropping out, only the hope that you come back next year.

Also! If you need to send in a draft through Google Docs, remember to go to the share button and change from private to anyone with the link and send us the link. That is the quick and dirty way to do it. :)

Good luck writing! If you need to vent about anything, don't forget [livejournal.com profile] wcbbvent for all needs. :)

02 July 2012 @ 07:38 pm
Hi everyone!

I hope everyone has been having fun writing. We've been quiet, dealing with real life issues, kittens, and writing our own things. I'm glad to see that nobody really needed us and hoped that nobody minded that we were quiet. We feel, here at [livejournal.com profile] whitecollar_bb, that everyone feels better with just writing on their own and not being poked every month. :)

However, rough draft time is upon us! You have until whenever the art claims post goes up - should be the 16th but might be the 17th around 8 pm Central Time - to get your drafts in. If we do not have a rough draft with a header from you, I cannot say that you will get an artist. You can still do the challenge, but there's a good chance you're not getting art unless you do the art yourself or get a friend to do it. So, until the art post goes up on the 16th, all drafts will be put into the art claims post for artists. After that, you have until August 1st to get a rough draft in and still be considered in the challenge. You just will not recieve art.

You will get a confirmation email back that your draft was recieved.

So, first - apologies to everyone. At the end of round 2, real life decided to attempt to kill your mods. We disappeared and I apologize for that. As time went on, I would remember to do this and then get embarrassed that the master list was coming up so late. I'm still a bit embarrassed by it, mostly because I feel bad that I haven't done this until now, but I wanted to get it up before we start round 3 on April 1st.

Personal baggage aside - Here Is the Master List! It is organized by posting date. The first person who posted is first and so on. Cheers!

Hello everyone:

We're starting posting later today. I am opening posting privileges to those who I received a draft from. The only person we are waiting on is [livejournal.com profile] elledeegee but I am not going to delay the start.

Everyone who turned in a final draft are good to go with posting. You now have posting access to the journal to post your fic. If you were not in the comm before, you now have been invited and have posting access. Please please please check your emails and if there are any problems, get a hold of me. I'm usually around the computer starting around eleven am CDT (6 pm GMT) and if I'm up earlier, I'm usually answering emails. :) Also, I apologize for the non LJ-cuts. I want to make sure that everyone sees this.

Now, for your posts, I do ask that you use the following header:

Title: Self explanatory. :D
Crossover Fandom: Only if you have one. :)
Characters/Pairings: Your primary characters and/or pairing, secondary pairing - feel free to put characters here if you have a gen fic.
Rating: Use the rating system you are most comfortable with.
Word Count: Again, self explanatory. :D
Spoilers: For the timeline, but also just in case we have readers not up to speed with season 3 if you're using it. Or even season 2.
Warnings: Please please please use this. If you think you need to put in a warning, put one in. Better to have one than not have one.

Art: Either below or above your fic but it needs to be in the same post. If your artist has not gotten your art to you by the time you post, please put TBP (To Be Posted).

ARTISTS!!! Please get the link to your art to your author so they can post it with their fic! Thank you SO SO Much for doing the art for us!

Authors - your final drafts are due today! Here's the list of the people who have already sent in drafts:

[livejournal.com profile] ceares
[livejournal.com profile] sahiya
[livejournal.com profile] mrwubbles
[livejournal.com profile] germanji
[livejournal.com profile] lionessvalenti

If your name is not on here and you sent us a draft, please leave me a comment below and I'll search through the email account. So please please please send in your draft. You really have until I get up tomorrow - around 9 am / 10 am central daylight time - to get your draft in.

Artists - if you have sent in art for us to show that you have something, thank you. Do know that, if you don't send anything in, you won't be penalized. It is more for us to have a bit of peace of mind that all the authors are going to have art. On the posting date for the author that you are assigned to, please create an art post and send the link to your author. Your author will then put that link and some of the artwork in their main post that they do to the community. The art is yours, as you are the ones that created it, and we did have a small bit of confusion on that. I'm sorry about that and I hope that all clears it up.

Happy Wednesday everyone! We start posting on the 9th with [livejournal.com profile] silver_falcon24!

Hello Authors and Artists!

Your final drafts are due now until the 7th of September. At 10 am Central Time on September 8th, we will be closed to accepting your drafts. You are to send your final drafts to whitecollar.bb.mods.

For Authors: Your final draft must be at least 10,000 words and have a beginning and an end. Please attach a draft to your email or remind us that you allowed us to view your google document and it's finished now. We ask that you put the title of your fic and final draft in the subject line of your email. In the body of the email, we would like your user name, pairing, and word count. So your email would look like this:

Subject: Dreams and Arrows -- Final Draft
Body: User name: crescent_gaia
Pairings: Peter/Neal, OT3
Word Count: ~20,000

For Artists: A link to what you are doing or a description would be fine. We just want to make sure that the authors will have a piece of art come the time that they post. Also, artists, your email should look like this:

Subject: Fic Title - Art
Body: User name: crescent_gaia
Type of Art: Mix, Photo Manip, drawing
Link/Description: [Put Link to Art here] or Description

Now, this does not mean that you cannot tinker with your fic or art. You have until your posting day to work on what you are doing. We just want to make sure that there will be something on your posting day.

If you need to drop out for whatever reason, please leave a comment below. We won't bite and you won't be penalized in any way. We understand that sometimes life gets the better of you.

Also, we've had everyone pick their dates. I'm going to post the schedule here as well as on the first day of posting. If you need to change your date, please leave a comment or reach us at whitecollar.bb.mods@gmail.com

Hello!

I hope everyone is doing well. Your final drafts or final art is due September 1st through September 7th. After we get your final draft, we will open the comm for you.

If anyone still wants an Archive of Our Own invite code, feel free to PM [livejournal.com profile] crescent_gaia or email the mod account. We'll get a code out to you as soon as we can.

Now, for the reason we're here. I apologize for not having this up when I said I would. In all truth - I kind of forgot. *facepalm* Silly Mod. However, it is now up. The dates are first come, first serve. If a date is taken and that date is the only date that you can post to during the challenge, please don't hesitate to PM/Email/Send up a flare or smoke signal to talk to us. We don't bite. Well, I don't. I can't speak for my co-mod.

Dates Under Here )

Have at it!

Hi Everyone.

I just wanted to say that we will be putting up the post to pick posting dates on Monday. The dates will start on the 7th of September and will go until the 18th of September. I know it's a long time, but that's to make sure that people can get a date that works to their schedules. We might even end before the 18th if the end dates aren't taken. It'll go up in the afternoon on Monday.

As for Livejournal - it seems stable for the moment, but I'm not going to completely trust it. Therefore, we have set up a community over at the Archive of Our Own. It is here and all you have to do is join the collection. If you do not have an Ao3 account and would like one, please ask me for invites. So, if Livejournal is down on the date that you are supposed to post, I do hope that you'll take us up on the Ao3 collection.

Also, if you were here for round 1, I would love it if you would join and post your fic from the first round. If you don't feel like doing so, that's fine as well. But it is open if you want to.

Last thing - Artists, we still have one fic left to be claimed over at the fic selection post (here). So, we decided that if you have already selected a fic and want a second one, you can claim the open fic. Until it is claimed, we will not be opening the other fics up for a second artist. So, please either spread the word or, if you have time, please claim it. We're trying other avenues as well to get an artist, but it would be nice if you could.

I think that's everything. Happy writing/editing and creating!

27 July 2011 @ 07:31 pm
Hello!

Emails have been sent to both author and artist with who you will be working with. Please get in touch with everyone as soon as you can. You have just over a month to get in a final draft and to get an art in. It doesn't have to be the final final draft, you can tweak until your posting date, but we need something on September 1st.

ALSO - We still have two stories that need art! If you are an artist who thinks that they can take on another story, please take one of them. If you cannot and know an artist who wants to play in the fandom, drag them over here.

Thanks everyone!

19 July 2011 @ 10:18 pm
And now the post that everyone has been waiting for -- Fic Summaries for the Artist selection! It is first come, first serve. As soon as all fics have been selected, I will open up the fic summaries for another round of selection.

Authors, you still have leeway! Please contact us by email or one of the previous posts about reminders if you wish to turn in a draft late! Arists, that means please check back on this post periodically!!

Edited to add in the title for number 9.

Only one story left!

Hey Guys!

You've got under a hour to get your rough drafts in. As long as you are around 7K (under or over works), please send them in to whitecollar.bb.mods@gmail.com . We'll send back a confirmation email when we get your draft.

Cheers!

19 July 2011 @ 01:06 am
Everyone, you have about 18 hours before your rough draft is due in. They're due at 8 pm Central Time due to my travel plans getting messed up. It only needs to be 7K with an ending in sight. If you have questions, either comment here or email us.

Happy writing!

18 July 2011 @ 02:43 pm
Hi Everyone!

Just so you know, today is the last day to send in your rough drafts. Officially, you have until midnight central time. Unofficially, you have until I put up the artist selection post, which will not be until tomorrow night around 8 pm Central time.

The reason why so late is that I missed my way home this morning and travel plans have changed to tomorrow. Artists, I apologize for this, because I know you're waiting to claim and create awesome art, but it will be soon. Also, the list below is going to look small, but don't despair. We believe that more will be turning in rough drafts and we thank you for signing up to do art for the challenge.

Also, here is the list of people who have already turned in their rough draft. If your name is not on this list and you have sent it to us, give it a hour or two before sending again or commenting. It might just be taking Google a while to work.

Rough Drafts Already Turned In
[livejournal.com profile] sahiya
[livejournal.com profile] mrwubbles
[livejournal.com profile] ceares

[livejournal.com profile] elledeegee

Congratulations to them! Everyone else, work on getting that draft in! :)

15 July 2011 @ 10:03 am
Hi everyone. Let's recap really quick.

Authors, you have until 18th of July to turn in your rough draft. You are allowed to turn it in if you have 7,000 words or more. If you have less and still want to turn something in, email us or PM myself or [livejournal.com profile] sirwynai. We'll be accepting such drafts below 7K on a case by case basis.

Now, you're going to want to send your draft to whitecollar.bb.mods@gmail.com. What you will put in the subject line is "White Collar Rough Draft: [username]". Where username is, please put your username. This just makes it easier for us to go through the drafts and figure out who is who. You either want to attach your document or send us the link through google documents. If you go through google documents, make sure that we're allowed to read the draft.

Also, you're going to want the following header in the body of your email:

Title (Working or otherwise):
Characters/Pairings:
Rating:
Any Warnings:
Short Summary:

Please note if your title is a working title for our artists. Also, we still need artists! We are really going to try to get more. If not, we will think of something to do. I hope everyone has a great weekend and I'm off to play in the Harry Potter fandom for a bit. :D

Cheers!

11 July 2011 @ 03:52 pm
Hi everyone!

Authors, you have eight days until your rough drafts are due in. Your rough draft should be around 8K and have either an end in sight or your ending outlined for your artist. If you have any questions, leave a comment here or contact us at whitecollar.bb.mods@gmail.com. We will grant extensions on a case by case basis if you think you can get your draft done by the final draft due date.

However, if you feel that you are unable to finish, please leave a comment here that you are dropping out. We're sorry to see you go and hopefully we'll see you for round three.

Oh - special note - anybody who drops out will be getting a message when we are done with the challenge about the end of challenge poll. We did one last year and it worked out well, so we'll be doing the same this year.

Cheers and happy writing!

ALSO - We Still Need Artists! At the moment, we have five artists to at least 19 authors at the moment. So, if you could please spread the word, we'd love you for it. :)

07 July 2011 @ 09:09 pm
1. We are extending when the rough draft fics are due in. We are opening up to rough drafts July 15th through July 18th. On the 19th, before noon, I will be posting summaries for artists to pick.

We're doing this because there is Harry Potter and we might be a bit fangirlish that weekend. Well, I am going to be fangirlish. I can't speak for [livejournal.com profile] sirwynai. :D

2. We Need Artists. Please. We have five signed up at the moment and I'd rather have more than less. So, if you know any artists who love White Collar, please point them in the direction of our artists sign up post here.

Also, if you are a writer who likes to be an artist as well, you can sign up for both. However, you cannot sign up to do your own art.

Cheers!

White Collar season 3 premieres tonight. I know I don't sound it, but I am really happy it's back.

Now, we have people who might be in different time zones or just don't have the time to watch tonight. I am asking, if you need to post a question about season 3 in the vent community, please use a warning that there are spoilers. This is a no brainer and I know we're all adults, but this is a gentle reminder.

Everyone - thanks for making this challenge and community awesome. If not for you, we would not exist. So a big pat on the back to everyone.

One more reminder - Rough Drafts are due July 15th. That is also when author sign ups end. I do ask that you please get them in on time because the next day, we have artist selection. If you need to drop out or ask a question, either reply here or email us at whitecollar.bb.mods@gmail.com .

Cheers and happy White Collar Tuesday everyone!

04 May 2011 @ 09:42 pm
Hi everyone!

I just wanted to poke my head in and see how writing is going. This is not an official check in post, so feel free to ignore it if you want to. I just want to know if anyone needs help or if you feel that we need anything over at [livejournal.com profile] wcbbvent or here.

I will ask that, if you haven't done so, please sign up over at [livejournal.com profile] wcbbvent for all your venting needs.

Writers - if you are just joining us, sign ups are still happening. Please go to this post and join us. Rough drafts are not due until the middle of July, so you have more than enough time.

Artists - we have not forgotten you. Our art mod, [livejournal.com profile] sirwynai, has been insanely busy. For that reason, artist sign ups will be posted on June 1st. We thank you for your patience in this.

If you have any questions, feel free to leave them here or contact us through PM or email at whitecollar.bb.mods at gmail dot com.

Cheers!

Hi everyone!

This is the end of our big bang challenge for this year. Thank you everyone who participated - the writers, artists, betaers, cheerleaders, and the readers. None of this would have been as fun as it has been without you. A special thank you to [livejournal.com profile] krazykipper who has helped us to make this a better big bang for everybody.

The Master List will be up soon. Also, if you have any feedback, feel free to leave it here. I would love to hear what worked for everyone, what didn't work, and anything that's on your minds about the challenge. We will be doing this next year and I hope that we see you then!
